What We Do and Where We Are
Opening Little Strokes Swim Academy is the culmination of the dreams of the two founders and owners, Bill Tygum and Emily Gnatzig. It was their intent to create a school that not only taught young children how to swim, but was also part of a community with which it could be welcomed to grow. In return, the school could give the local children an invaluable skill, not only in building confidence and self-respect, but also in a fundamental life aptitude that may very well one day save a life. Indeed, infant and toddler safety is one of the main thrusts of focus in the instruction provided at Little Strokes.

Why We Are Different From Other Programs and Our Level Progressions
One of the major facets that make Little Strokes Swim Academy different from other programs is the impressive resumes of its founders that demonstrates their lifelong dedication to the sport, science, and art of swimming. Emily and Bill have made swimming their life’s passion, and now they have found a way to make it their life’s work. They believe without conceit that they are among the most highly qualified instructors in the nation, and that a deep commitment and remarkable training make them unique compared to any other program in the area.
They also recognize that learning swimming is a lifelong process, and that the younger a student starts, the better chance he or she has to perfect the ability to swim.

Teaching Understanding
It is our goal to impart an understanding of how to swim to our students:
• Two or three year old children do not need to be limited to simply splashing
• As early as they learn to walk, children can learn to swim
• They can learn the dynamics of moving their bodies through water
• Once they understand these principles, they can maximize their potential
• A foundation to take full advantage of a child’s untapped abilities is invaluable

Summer session will run 9/10 weeks
June 15 - August 22
(No Classes July 4-6)
Sunday and Friday classes are prorated for one lesson!
We will also be having Sprint Classes that will meet Monday-Thursday for 2 weeks
Summer Tuition:
Parent/tot - $90/$100
Age group - $160/$175
Sprint Classes - $140
*Stroke Classes - Sorry we will not be having Stroke Classes over the summer...they will resume fall 2008 | | |
